Mitigate nitrate contamination in potato tubers and increase nitrogen recovery by combining dicyandiamide, moringa oil and zeolite with nitrogen fertilizer

چکیده
Potato is considered a nitrogen (N) intensive plant with low N use efficiency (NUE). The current study introduced an excellent approach by combining dicyandiamide (DCD), moringa seed oil (MSO), or zeolite (ZE), fertilizer for maximizing potato tuber yields and NUE as well minimizing tubers nitrate (NO3?) accumulation. impact of these materials on soil availability gaseous emissions (NH3, N2O) was investigated under incubation conditions. A 2-year field experiment were carried out seven treatments [without (control), (350 kg N-urea ha?1 recommended dose; UreaRD), 75% dose DCD (Urea75%RD+DCD), Urea75%RD 2% MSO (Urea75%RD+MSO2%), 4% (Urea75%RD+MSO4%), 0.5 Mg ZE (Urea75%RD+ZER1), 1.0 (Urea 75%RD+ZER2)]. We also conducted 40-days trial the same treatments; however, urea added at rate 200 mg kg?1 all treatments, excluding control. addition DCD, MSO, conditions delayed nitrification process, thereby causing rise in NH4+-N content decrease NO3?-N content. Ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) inhibited (p ? 0.01) Urea+DCD, Urea+MSO4%, Urea+ZER2. highest indexes recorded treatment Urea75%RD+DCD. NO3- accumulation (567 NO3? kg?1) UreaRD. Whilest, lowest (81 cumulative N2O NH3 volatilization observed Urea+DCD Our findings demonstrated that could be reduced 25%, while increased acceptable limit content, resulting economical, agronomical, environmental benefits.

Effect of Fertilizer and Irrigation on Nitrate-Nitrogen and Total Nitrogen in Potato Tubers'
This study was conducted to determine the effect of N fertilizer and irrigation management on potato (Sotanum tuberosum L,) tuber N0,-N levels and the relationship to the potential health hazard created by high nitrate levels in food products. `Russet Burbank' potatoes grown using different N fertilizer rates, methods of application, and irrigation levels were analyzed for N0,-N concentration. ...

متن کاملPredicting Nitrogen Fertilizer Needs for Sugarbeets from Residual Nitrate and Mineralizable Nitrogen'
Received for publication ply 8, 1974 Nitrogen (N) fertilizer management for sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris L.) production requires more precise information than for most crops. Inadequate N limits plant growth and root yield, but excess N may reduce both sucrose percentage and recoverable sucrose (7)." Also, excess N may stimulate more leaf growth than necessary. The rate and timing of N fertilizer a...
متن کاملDetermining Nitrogen Fertilizer Needs for Sugarbeets from Residual Soil Nitrate and Mineralizable Nitrogen' J
Soil nitrate and mineralizable nitrogen are used to predict the root yield potential and N fertilizer needs of sugarbeets. Predicting the required N fertilizer for optimum refined sucrose production based on soil test procedures is needed because inadequate N limits root yield and high levels of N may reduce both extractable sucrose and sucrose yield. Sugarbeets (Beta vulgaris L.) were grown at...
